Aaron is an incredibly dedicated father. And knowing him for as long as I have, I wouldn't expect anything less. Still, there are times when he's surprisingly so... that he gives my stomach butterflies.
And he didn't... nor did his mini-version.
I'm embarrassed to say, that Ava has asked to take dance classes for several years now. I just never thought it would take me that long to get her started. Maybe part of it was my personal lack of interest - because to be honest, ballet? I see its beauty {Nutcracker}, understand its passion {Billy Elliot}, and even a bit of cuteness {puffy tutus}... but I just didn't see it as a fit in our lives, nor how the benefits would offset the costs... like say for example, a science camp would...
After acknowledging that she really is starting school this year - it just seemed to me she needed to be doing something more fun {not to say that school isn't fun}, but fun more along the lines of being apart of something...
a part of something that gives her butterflies...
I love this. One day I'll enroll Mari in a "real" ballet class. Until then, I'm relying on YouTube for tutorials and flagging all images I see on Pinterest. I hope to have a YouTube recital for her in December. I'll be sure to let you know when that happens. :)
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing more of Ava's ballet!
That is TOO cute Bianca! A YouTube recital!?! You are so amazing. I can't wait to see it. Now why didn't I ever think of that? I did use YT to show Ava videos of acrobats - she's fascinated with tightropes, and the look on her face watching - was priceless. I can only imagine how wonderful the learning at home is going!
ReplyDeleteThis post would be perfect if you didn't include the picture of the homeless man holding Noah. (I swear i don't always look like i just woke up.. i am quite sure it had been a long day!)
ReplyDeleteI am so excited for Ava and her ballet. We could tell she was so anxious to begin - and her first class was a success. I must say i was rather impressed with her form and technique.
(Especially when she started doing the backspin in the middle of class)
She is already looking forward to next week - and hopefully i can ditch my last 3 hours of meetings to make it next Wednesday too!
